In this role, the mascot will report to the Marketing and Events Manager and will be an exciting and integral part of the Dutch Springs
entertainment experience.  The mascot is a highly visible representative of Dutch Springs.  In order to attain the most professional, engaging, and creative representation of the organization, the mascot must be someone who has unparalleled excitement and enthusiasm for Dutch Springs and its guests.

The individual(s) selected must have the ability to display the appropriate actions in different performance settings.  A consistent mascot performance is a must.  The person who performs must accept the responsibility that they are a representative of Dutch Springs, and in doing so also commits to perform in accordance with the standards and expectations of the organization.


  • Perform at Dutch Springs, during seasonal hours and special events
  • Represent Dutch Springs at all community appearances
  • Perform at parties, parades, festivals, etc on scheduled days, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Perform mascot duties in a manner deemed acceptable according to Dutch Springs standards
  • Research, create, and/or purchase props and costumes for the mascot
  • Mascot costume operations including creativity, care, cleaning, maintenance, etc.
  • Create good will in the community
  • Assist in research of various local and regional community events
  • Assist in formulating and implementing successful mascot programs using creative marketing ideas and tactics
  • Assist in researching and identifying opportunities to grow the identity and presence of the mascot and the Dutch Springs brand
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Entertainment experience in a character role is not required, but is a plus; training will be provided
  • Due to costume restrictions, candidates must be at least 5 feet 7 inches tall but no more than 6 feet tall
  • Must be well organized and flexible to meet time, priority, and workload demands
  • Ability to analyze and interpret common social expressions and clients’ needs or wants relating to the mascot
  • Punctuality is mandatory and availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays is a must
  • Must be able to work in a costume in different settings and sometimes hot climate
  • Must work well with children and other staff member at all events
  • Ideal candidate should be in good physical condition, highly energetic, and athletic

Compensation will be discussed upon hiring; may be able to receive college credit as part of an internship program if desired.
