Employment FAQ’s

15 yrs old at start of work for most positions. Exceptions are:

  • 16 yrs- Lifeguards and Sky Challenge Attendants
  • 18 yrs- Air Fill Attendants
  • 21 yrs- Medics and Lakestaff

NOW HIRING FOR THE 2017 SEASON!

Typically we:
– accept applications starting in February
– schedule interviews in March
– begin hiring for the new season in April

Each employee will go through multiple interviews within the hiring process.

Typically, interview 1 and 2 are group interviews with a panel of managers. Interview 3 is an individual interview with the manager of the department you may be hired for.

Shifts can start as early as 6:45 am and can end as late as 10:30 pm and are typically between 4 and 8 hours in length.

Your age, the position you are working and the schedule of your department will determine the time and length of your shift.

Minors, under the age of 18, may work up to 40 hours per week.  Employees 18 years of age and older are not limited to 40 hours per week.

Hours scheduled are determined between the park and employee.  During peak season, there are opportunities to work as many hours as you want.

In most departments, the only requirement is being 15 yrs old.  Employees must demonstrate maturity, professionalism and be safety concious.

Aqua Park Lifeguards:  Must be 16 yrs old and a Red Cross Certified Lifeguard prior to hire.  We do hold certification classes periodically throughout the year.  There is a fee for the class and certification does not guarantee employment.

Sky Challenge Attendant:  Must be 16 yrs old and pass a free ride attendant course we teach upon hiring.

Air Fill Attendant: Must by 18 yrs old and pass a free air fill attendant course we teach upon hiring.

Medics:  Must be 21 yrs old and PA or National EMT or Paramedic certified.

Lakestaff: Must be a scuba dive professional (assistant instructor, divemaster or instructor) and hold your own liability insurance certificate.

We have approximately 250 seasonal employees each season.

All Staff: Dutch Springs provides each employee with *two t-shirts and a hat.  You must provide pants or shorts that are free of holes, tears, logos and other wording. Close toed shoes with backs are required.  Additional uniform items, including sweatshirts and long sleeve t-shirts can be purchased at cost.

Lifeguards:  Dutch Springs additionally provides one bathing suit.

* Lakestaff and Medics will only be provided with one t-shirt.

Your staff name badge is a special pass you can use while you are employed!
